Reverse Raffle Held to Raise Money for OSU Endowment Funds

2011 Reverse Raffle prize winners

The OSU Extension Endowment Funds were the big winners during the annual Reverse Raffle fund-raiser held October 20, 2011. The event was held at the Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center.

Pictured are (left to right): Randy Nichols, Raffle Committee chairman, Richard Clay representative for the 6 C's group and Lloyd McGilton, Raffle winners, and Dave Wilson, MC for the event. Lloyd and the 6 C's group agreed to share the grand prize and each took home $5,500.  A total of $16,450 was awarded overall in prizes. In addition, over 20 area businesses donated gift certificates and prizes that were given away during the event.

Proceeds from the 2011 Reverse Raffle will be used to support the Guernsey County 4-H and OSU Extension programming efforts.  Last year these endowments funded special programs such as the “4-H Reading Makes the Best Better”,  “Master Gardeners Heritage Garden”,  "4-H Fashion & Food Board Educational Activities", and “Ag School Days”; scholarships for 4-H camp, 4-H membership fees and 4-H Leaders Forum; awards for the Premier Livestock Exhibitor and Public Speaking Contest; as well as agricultural and community development research, promotional & educational materials.
